Curriculum Vitae
David Hanes (b. 1987) is a Canadian-American painter based in Berlin since 2014. Rooted in plein-air sketching and a nomadic engagement with the world, his work moves between immediacy and contemplation, turning fleeting observations into deeply expressive paintings. Guided by colour and memory, his practice proposes a quiet resistance to disconnection—reminding us that to witness the world with feeling is, in itself, a radical act.
